Finding and coming up with combined themes for our two July birthdays has become a regular part of our summer plans!
My son and daughter and 2 years apart, to the week, so we’ve opted for combined birthday parties rather than individual parties a week apart! I know that one day they’ll want their own parties but we’re going to ride out the combined parties as long as possible.

For their 2nd and 4th birthday party, we went with a fun summer theme- “Mermaid And Sharks”! I always try my best to give them some individuality by having distinct sides of the table.

I was 24 weeks pregnant here and we had just moved across the state a month before, so my capacity for this party was pretty low! This theme was super easy to make happen and there were lots of options for table decor since it was summer time!
The rice crisps were a huge hit and were so easy. Just make rice crisps as usual and add some food coloring!

The day of the party arrived and I realized I had completely forgotten to get cupcakes. I ran to Walmart at the last minute and they had perfectly coordinating cupcakes!

Our one splurge for this party was their cakes! But they both loved them so much so it was worth it! I wish I had gotten a photo of the inside of my daughters cake, it was ombre pink and so cute.

Overall, I’d call this combined brother and sister birthday party a success!! Every year is getting a bit harder to find combined themes that they’re both excited about but this one was a big hit!
